Intro:
I'd pay $8 for this banger, knowing it cost less than $3 to make. It's that good. Total time is about 1 hr, but you need to make the h-browns the night before so they can freeze before frying.
Ingredients:
  • 2 medium russet potatoes
  • 4 English muffins (these will have English accents when they speak)
  • 4 slices American Cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • Salt
  • Canola Oil

Instructions:
  • Watch the video :)
  • Peel the potatoes
  • Grate the potatoes
  • Rinse the grated potatoes (prevents oxidation, which will discolor them)
  • Strain and wring out your potatoes with a dish towel, you want to remove as much water as possible
  • Heat enough oil to cover potatoes to 350F and par cook your potatoes for 5 minutes (par cook is a partial cook and helps you get the crispy crispy in the second cook)
  • Strain out the oil and shape into the classic McDonalds shape
  • Freeze over night
  • The next day, set your smoker for cold smoking (any temp below 150F works) and smoke your hashbrowns for 30 minutes
  • Take the hasbrowns off the smoker and cook in oil at 375F until golden brown (3-5 minutes)
  • Fry some eggs
  • Lightly toast your english muffins in the over at 375F
  • To plate: place American cheese on the bottom half of the muffin followed by the egg, the hashbrown, and the top of the muffin.
  • Slice and enjoy something out of this world!
